An enthusiastic, versatile and rigorous editor, I have over a decade's experience editing, writing and teaching. With a PhD in Comparative Literature, I have published, presented and edited a broad range of academic articles. I have taught both native and non-native English speakers, and published a range of poetry, creative non-fiction and journalistic texts. As well as extensive freelance writing, editing and translation experience, I have worked as an in-house content editor for a travel website.

Extensive experience writing and editing papers, presenting at conferences, and teaching classes at different levels – as well as writing and editing copy for a range of websites and publications – means that I know how to rewrite and select text and content for different audiences. I have a deep understanding of tone and of the subliminal messages of language. I love perfecting details, finding the right words, the turn of phrase that makes a reader not only pay attention but also feel something: this is the central skill for editing, and I will relish the opportunity to use my words to reach your audiences in just the right way.


I am available both for last-minute proofreads of copy and to collaborate on longer projects, including books and full websites.
